Zika Virus: Zika virus knocks in Karnataka, 5-year-old girl infected, health department on alert

After Coronavirus, now Zika virus has also been knocked down in the country. Its first case has come to light in Karnataka. Zika virus infection has been confirmed in a five-year-old girl.

 

State Health Minister K. Giving information, Sudhakar said that after a five-year-old girl got infected with the Zika virus, it has been advised to take precautionary measures. This is the first case reported in the state and the government is monitoring the situation carefully. The health department is fully prepared to deal with this virus.

Talking to the media, Health Minister Sudhakar said that a few months ago, cases of the Zika virus were found in Kerala, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh. This is the first case in Karnataka. He said that the government is taking precautions and necessary instructions have been issued to the surveillance officers in the neighboring districts.

 

67-year-old man infected in Pune

Earlier this month, a 67-year-old man was found infected with the Zika virus in the Bavdhan area of Pune, according to the health department. The man is a resident of Nashik and had come to Pune on 6 November. He came to the hospital on November 18 with symptoms like fever, cough, joint pain, and fatigue and was diagnosed with the Zika virus on November 18.

 

Maharashtra Health Department said, 'One case of Zika virus has been reported in Maharashtra. Symptoms were seen in a 67-year-old man from Bavdhan Pune city, originally from Nashik who had come to Pune on 6 November. He visited Surat on 22 October. On November 30, the National Institute of Virology confirmed Zika virus infection in him.
