Earlier this month, a 67-year-old man was found infected with the Zika virus in the Bavdhan area of Pune, according to the health department. The man is a resident of Nashik and had come to Pune on 6 November. He came to the hospital on November 18 with symptoms like fever, cough, joint pain, and fatigue and was diagnosed with the Zika virus on November 18.
Maharashtra Health Department said, 'One case of Zika virus has been reported in Maharashtra. Symptoms were seen in a 67-year-old man from Bavdhan Pune city, originally from Nashik who had come to Pune on 6 November. He visited Surat on 22 October.
