Today is the 14th day of the farmers' agitation against agricultural laws. The government has sent a proposal to change the laws today to the farmers. But the farmers are adamant about repealing the law. Farmers are being discussed on the Singhu border to decide on the government's proposal.

'We will consider only if I have written confidence to return the law'

Earlier, All India Kisan Sabha general secretary Hannan Mola had said that if the government is talking about amendment, then our answer is clear. Instead of amendment, we will consider only if we get written assurance of withdrawal of law. If we find the letter of the government positive, then we can have a meeting tomorrow.

'Even if the government insists on the insistence, the farmers will not back down'

Indian Farmers Union spokesman Rakesh Tikait said that the farmers would not back down. It is a matter of honor. Does the government not want to withdraw the law? Will farmers be tortured? If the government is adamant, then the farmers to are firm on their stand. The law must be returned. After discussing the proposal of the government, further strategy will be decided.

3 pm cabinet briefing

Modi cabinet meeting took place today amidst the farmers' movement. It is being told that the proposal to change the agricultural laws was also discussed in the cabinet. Cabinet decisions will be informed at the press conference at 3 pm. It is expected that information on farmers' issues can also be given.

Discussion with Amit Shah did not happen

Although the farmers' meeting with the government was scheduled today, but Home Minister Amit Shah suddenly sent an invitation to the farmers to meet on Tuesday. The first 5 peasant leaders were called for the meeting, 13 later joined. Some farmers protested saying why did the meeting take place a day earlier and only 13 members were included instead of 40? The meeting was earlier at Shah's house, at the last moment, the venue was changed to the ICAR Guest House. In such a situation, 2 farmers could not attend the meeting and the other farmers refused to start discussions without them. After this, the police escorted the two farmers and brought them around 9.15 pm.

At the meeting, Shah had called several experts, who were explaining to the farmers what the effect of the change would be in the future. Still, the farmer leaders were registering their objections, so the meeting was inconclusive.

5 opposition leaders including Rahul will meet the president today

20 political parties are supporting the demands of the farmers. Opposition parties also participated in the farmers' Bharat Bandh on Tuesday. 5 Opposition leaders will meet President Ram Nath Kovind at 5 pm today. These will also include Rahul Gandhi and Sharad Pawar.
