During the main ceremony, people across the country will sing the full version of Vande Mataram en masse at around 9:50 a.m. On this occasion, Prime Minister Modi said that Vande Mataram is not just a song; it is an expression of the soul of Mother India.
The song was written on Akshaya Navami in 1875.
The year 2025 marks the 150th anniversary of the composition of Vande Mataram. This song was written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee on Akshaya Navami, November 7, 1875. It was later published in the literary magazine Bangadarshan as an excerpt from his famous novel Anandamath.
