The number of foreign terrorists operating in Jammu and Kashmir has increased. This was revealed in the report of the Ministry of Home Affairs. It has been told that at present 134 terrorists belonging to different terrorist organizations are active in the Union Territory. Of these, 83 are foreign and 51 are local.
Apart from this, the government has claimed that 167 terrorists have been killed in the Valley so far this year, out of which 41 are foreigners and 126 are locals. Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Kashmir Range Vijay Kumar informed that the number of Foreign Terrorists (FTs) killed this year is double as compared to 2021. In 2021, 21 foreign terrorists were killed, while this year 41 terrorists were killed.
India accepted - violence increased in the valley
According to media reports, in the recent meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Committee of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in Mumbai, the Ministry of Home Affairs admitted that violence is increasing again in the Kashmir Valley. According to government data, there were 600 terror camps in Jammu and Kashmir in 2018, which came down to 150 in 2021. However, by September 2022, the number of these terror bases increased to 225.
Terrorists who killed Kashmiri Pandits killed
On Tuesday, 3 terrorists were killed by security forces in Awantipora of Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir. These include Lashkar commander Mukhtar Bhat, who was attacking Kashmiri Pandits and migrants in the Valley. Along with him, Saqlain Mushtaq of Pulwama and Pakistani terrorist Mushfiq have also been killed. Security forces have also recovered a huge cache of weapons from the terrorists. According to media reports, these terrorists were planning a fidayeen attack in the camp of the security forces. Earlier a terrorist was killed in Kupwara.
3 hybrid terrorists arrested in Srinagar
Srinagar Police of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday arrested 3 hybrid terrorists in Harnambal. Security forces have recovered a 10 kg bucket of IED and 2 grenades from them. Srinagar Police said that the Bomb Disposal Squad destroyed the IED in the Rangreth area. Also, a case has been registered under UAPA, Arms Act, and Explosives Act.
