Earthquake tremors were felt in Tajikistan and Afghanistan on Thursday morning. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Tajikistan, 265 km from Faizabad in Afghanistan. Here the earth trembled twice within 18 minutes. For the first time, its intensity was measured at 6.6 on the Richter scale, while for the second time, the intensity of the earthquake was measured above five. The earthquake occurred at 6.07 am and 6.25 am. The epicenter of the first shock was 113 km from the ground and the second was 150 km deep. Apart from this, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake also occurred 67 km west of Murgob in Tajikistan.

They are monitoring developments related to the impact of the earthquake in Tajikistan. The sources also informed that India is in touch with the Tajikistan authorities and relevant bodies of the Government of India are closely coordinating for any necessary assistance.
