Demand for ceasefire in Gaza: Jewish activists protest by entering US Parliament, detained by police

The conflict between Israel and Hamas has been going on for the last 12 days. Nearly five thousand people have lost their lives so far in this war that started after the attack by the Palestinian terrorist organization Hamas on Israel. But there is no hope of a ceasefire yet. Meanwhile, progressive Jewish-American activists staged a sit-in inside the US Capitol in Washington demanding a ceasefire in Gaza. He demanded the US Congress call for a ceasefire in Gaza.

 

At the same time, a similar protest was held by Jewish organizations for hours near the White House. Hundreds of protesters gathered outside the residence of US President Joe Biden in Washington on Wednesday and urged an end to the war. The protesters demand that Congress should call for a ceasefire in Gaza. According to Jewish Voice for Peace, thousands of American Jews protested outside the Parliament, while more than 350 were inside.

 

"We are being arrested, but we will not leave until we get assurances regarding a ceasefire and an end to the massacre of Palestinians in Gaza," the Jewish organization said in a post on Twitter. The organization said that for the last 75 years, the Israeli government has been illegally occupying Palestinian land and Palestinian communities are being wiped out. Now, genocide is being carried out in Gaza with the full support of America.

At the same time, pro-Palestinian organizations in Chicago, America, demonstrated against the Israeli army's alleged bombing of a refugee hospital in Gaza and condemned the attack. The protesters also demanded a ceasefire.

Here, after the blast in Al-Ahli Hospital in the Gaza Strip, protests and clashes have started in West Bank, Lebanon, and Jordan. On the other hand, Jordanian protesters tried to storm the Israeli embassy. Here the angry mob surrounded the embassy building and tried to forcibly enter inside. In Lebanon, the Lebanese militant group and Iran-backed Hezbollah called for a day of rage to condemn the hospital blast. Hundreds of protesters surrounded the French and American embassies here.

Demonstrations in Egypt, Bahrain, and Turkey also

Demonstrations were also held in many Muslim countries including Egypt, Bahrain, Turkey, and UAE in support of the people killed in the blast on the hospital in Gaza. The protesters described the blasts on the hospital as genocide and a cruel crime. People said that Israel's intentions are already anti-Muslim and it is carrying out genocide against the community in the name of Hamas. The anger of the protesters also turned against America and its supporting countries. They had anti-American banners in their hands. Israeli flags were also burned in Bahrain and Egypt. According to The Times of Israel, hundreds of protesters took to the streets throughout the West Bank. To control the crowd, Palestinian forces in Ramallah fired tear gas at the protesters. The protesters were demanding the resignation of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas.

 

Increase in anti-Semitic incidents in Germany
