The government had announced that a mock drill would be organized across the country on May 7, in which training would be given to deal with war situations. Also, everything was normal at the government level. Pakistan had an idea that India would attack, but it did not have any idea that India would attack suddenly. Operation Sindoor is a great example of deceiving the enemy. PM Modi also surprised Pakistan by postponing the Indus Water Treaty after the Pahalgam attack. Pakistan would have anticipated military action from India, but they would never have thought that India could take such a strict step.

This is not the first time that PM Modi has surprised the enemy. Earlier, Pakistan could not even sense India's action during the Balakot air strike. India attacked Balakot on 26 February 2019. Everything was normal before that too. On 25 February, PM Modi dedicated the National War Memorial to the country.
