Following the success of the film Dhurandhar, actor Akshaye Khanna's name has been constantly in the headlines regarding his upcoming movies. His list of upcoming films included Drishyam 3, but he surprised everyone by suddenly dropping out of the project. Drishyam 3 producer Kumar Mangat Pathak criticized Akshaye for leaving the film despite signing the agreement.

Now, Drishyam 3 director Abhishek Pathak has also reacted to the matter. He also revealed Ajay Devgn's opinion on the issue. Let's delve into the details.

The Drishyam 3 controversy heats up.

Abhishek Pathak took the reins of this hit franchise with Drishyam 2, and he is now bringing the third installment, which was recently officially announced. However, the matter is currently quite heated due to actor Akshaye Khanna's exit from Drishyam 3.  In a recent interview with E Times, the film's director Abhishek Pathak spoke openly about the issue and said:

"Everything was finalized, and he (Akshaye Khanna) liked the film's script very much. The look and costumes for the role were all finalized. But a day before the release of Dhurandhar, he refused to do Drishyam 3. We also discussed this matter with Ajay Devgn, who said that we should decide what to do next, and anyway, it's a matter between the producers and me."

"The story will continue from where the sequel ended.  Therefore, the characters' looks cannot be changed. In that case, Akshaye's demand for a hair wig was unreasonable. I challenge him to do a solo film in the future."

Furthermore, Drishyam 3 director Abhishek Pathak flatly denied that Akshaye Khanna had demanded a fee of 21 crore rupees for the film.

When will Drishyam 3 be released?

Recently, a promo video of Drishyam 3 was released, in which the makers also revealed the film's release date. The film, starring Ajay Devgn, will be released on the big screen on October 2, 2026.
