In many European countries, cases of monkeypox infection have been increasing rapidly over the last month. The infection is more commonly seen in parts of Central and West Africa, although since the first case in England in early May, it has spread rapidly to nine European countries, including the US, Canada, and Australia. So has monkeypox knocked in India too? This question is arising because recently the Health Department of Ghaziabad has sent a sample of a five-year-old girl for investigation based on suspicion. Significantly, India has been completely safe from infection so far.
According to the information received from media reports, the girl has a hearing problem, for which she came to Ghaziabad Hospital from Bihar. The examining doctor said that the minor had severe rash and itching on the skin. Some symptoms are also similar to monkeypox, based on which the sample has been sent for examination.
The Health Department has alerted all the people about the symptoms of monkeypox and preventive measures. Let us know, how can it be identified and prevented?
danger signs in India
Monkeypox is a contagious disease, which can be spread by visiting infected places or coming in contact with the infected. At present, the officials have said that the girl has neither any recent travel history nor has she come in contact with any person who has traveled abroad in the last month. In such a situation, the chances of confirmation of infection are less.
Although the symptoms seemed similar to those of monkeypox, the sample has been sent for examination to confirm the actual case. On behalf of the Health Department, an appeal has been made to all the people to keep safe from this infection. Let us know about this growing infection.
