The Rajasthan team, which has finished its IPL journey in seventh or eighth place for the last three seasons, has reached the playoffs in 2022. This is Rajasthan's fifth playoff. Earlier in 2018, Rajasthan reached the playoffs. But this time despite having 10 teams in IPL 2022, Rajasthan has finished in second place in the league stage. On May 24, Rajasthan Royals will play the playoff match against Gujarat. After the four teams of the playoff have been decided, now Rajasthan is seen as the strongest contender for the championship.

There are many reasons behind Rajasthan's favorites this year, never been seen as a contender for the past 12 seasons. Rajasthan players performed brilliantly this season. This is the reason why Rajasthan has the highest number of records after the end of the league stage. Not only individual but also Rajasthan is at the fore in team records.

Reason - expressed full confidence in 9 players

Rajasthan management expressed full confidence in 9 players including 4 bowlers and 5 batsmen of the team. These 9 players were never dropped from the team because of their form. The changes that happened were only in 2 spots. For the rest of the season, only one team played. This was the reason why these players performed brilliantly and gave match-winning performances.

Reason - Every batsman made a half-century

There is no one among the six leading Rajasthan batsmen who have not hit a fifty in the tournament. Jos Buttler scored three centuries and three fifties for Rajasthan. Apart from him, Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal hit 2 fifty. While Shimran Hetmyer, Devdutt Paddkal, and Riyan Parag hit 1-1 fifty. Even R Ashwin scored 1 half-century.

Reason - 4 bowlers took 65 wickets together

Rajasthan played the entire season with 5 bowlers. In these, 4 bowlers were a part of the team continuously. Together these four bowlers took 65 wickets for the team. In these, Yuzvendra Chahal took 26, famous Krishna 15, Trent Boult took 13 and R Ashwin took 11 wickets.

Four players performed best in IPL

For Rajasthan, 4 players made the best performance of their IPL career this season. Of these, 3 came from other teams. Jos Buttler, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shimron Hetmyer, and R Ashwin gave their career-best this season. Ashwin shone with both ball and bat. Butler was with Rajasthan.
