Due to global pressure amid increasing cases of corona infection, the Chinese media has now started downplaying the seriousness of the infection. The infection data provided by China has come under the scanner. A large number of people are dying here due to the spread of corona infection. Long queues of people are being seen for the last rites. In contrast, China on Monday reported only three deaths from Corona. The People's Daily, the official newspaper of the Communist Party, quoted Chinese experts as saying on Tuesday that the infection occurring in most people is much milder than before.

Tong Zhaohui, vice president of Beijing-based Chaoyang Hospital, told the newspaper that currently only three to four percent of patients admitted to Beijing's major hospitals are in critical condition. Kang Yan, head of Tianfu Hospital in western China's Sichuan, said only 46 patients had been admitted to the ICU in the past three weeks. At the same time, according to eyewitnesses, all the emergency wards of Zhongshan Hospital in Shanghai were filled with patients on Tuesday. Most of them were elderly. The situation was such that even in the corridors of the hospital, patients were being treated by placing beds. Whereas, a large number of patients were standing in the queue.

WHO asked for real information

The World Health Organization (WHO) has again urged China to regularly share specific and real information on the COVID-19 situation. This will help in estimating new cases of infection. WHO has asked Chinese authorities to share more genetic sequencing data, and data on hospitalizations, deaths, and vaccinations.

China threatens to retaliate against sanctions

China has expressed displeasure over the compulsion of testing implemented by some countries for passengers leaving from here amidst increasing corona infection. It has said that it will take similar retaliatory action against those countries. Foreign Ministry spokesman Mao Ning said that we believe that the entry restrictions adopted by some countries do not have a scientific basis. We oppose attempts to manipulate COVID measures for political purposes. We will also retaliate. Many countries have now made it mandatory for passengers coming from China to show negative reports of Kovid. Due to this, he has become very upset.
