There are a total of 60 assembly seats in the state. For the first time in 2018, the BJP government was formed in Tripura. The BJP and its ally IPFT together won 41 seats here. Before 2018, the CPI-M had a government for 25 years, but the CPI-M's vote share in that year's assembly elections was less than 45%. The Left won 18 seats.
Amit Shah will visit 11 states in January
The Union Home Minister is scheduled to visit 11 states in January as part of an exercise called Lok Sabha Pravas. It will start with North East. Shah will visit Tripura, Nagaland, and Manipur on January 5 and 6. Will go to Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand on 7th January. He will then head south to visit Andhra Pradesh on January 8.
Shah is also likely to visit Karnataka on January 28, where it will go to polls again later this year. The names of Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal are also included in the list. Shah will visit these states on 16 and 17 January. At the end of the month, senior BJP leaders will visit Haryana and Punjab.
BJP's mission-2024
The BJP's focus is on the assembly elections to be held in the states in 2023 as well as the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Shah's campaign is part of the BJP's Mission 350 for the Lok Sabha. The party aims to win at least 350 of the 543 Lok Sabha seats in the general elections next year.
