Another case of HMPV Virus surfaced, and now a second case found in this state; 75-year-old woman infected

The pace of the HMPV virus is increasing rapidly in the country. Now the second case of HMPV has been found in Guwahati, Assam. A 75-year-old woman in Guwahati has been detected with Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) infection, which is the second such case in Assam this season.

 

The woman is undergoing treatment at a private hospital, and an official of the health facility has informed her about this. Giving information about the case, the official further said that the woman has been kept in isolation and her condition is stable. However, no official confirmation has been made by the state government.

 

Hospitalized'

Giving further information about the case, a hospital official said, 'The woman was admitted to our hospital a few days ago and HMPV infection was detected during a routine checkup.'

 

Let us tell you that the first child to be detected with HMPV infection in the state this season was a 10-month-old child. The child, from Lakhimpur, was treated at the Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCH) in Dibrugarh earlier this month.

 

What are the symptoms of the HMPV virus?

 

Human metapneumovirus is one of several respiratory viruses that can cause infection in people of all ages, especially during the winter and early spring months. The virus infection is usually not seen to be very severe and most such patients recover on their own.
