The Central Government has issued the notification to implement the Citizenship Amendment Act i.e. CAA. With this, the Citizenship Amendment Act has now come into force across the country. After which politics has heated up. This decision of the Central Government is also facing criticism. Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal held a press conference today on the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). He said that this is a game of creating a vote bank, BJP is doing vote bank politics.
Attacking the BJP, the Chief Minister said that they are giving the rights of their country to the Pakistanis. CAA will cause more damage to the North Eastern states. Other countries stop outsiders from coming. BJP has brought CAA for electoral gains. BJP is preparing its vote bank. The country demands that the CAA be withdrawn. The youth of the country are not getting employment.
Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said, 'What is this CAA? The BJP government at the Center says that if the minorities of three countries Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan want to take Indian citizenship, then they will also be given citizenship. This means that a large number of people from minorities will be brought to our country. They will be given jobs and houses will be built for them. BJP cannot give jobs to our children but they want to give jobs to the children coming from Pakistan. Many of our people are homeless but BJP wants to settle the people coming from Pakistan here. They want to give our jobs to their children. They want to settle Pakistanis in our rightful homes. The money that the Government of India has, should be used for the development of our families and the country. It will be used to settle Pakistanis.
Kejriwal said that under no circumstances will we allow people from other countries to take the employment of our children. We will strongly oppose this. If they do not take it back, then express your anger by voting against the BJP in this election. There is no employment for your children and you want to invite Pakistanis and provide employment, this is beyond my understanding. India is moving contrary to the rest of the world. All over the world, poor people from other countries are being stopped from coming, we are opening our doors to them. Bring back those businessmen who left India, so that new factories can open and their children can get employment.
What is the Citizenship Amendment Act?
The Citizenship Amendment Bill amends the Citizenship Act, of 1955 to make Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, Parsi, and Christian illegal immigrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Pakistan eligible for citizenship.

What are the provisions of the new law?
The Citizenship Act provides for citizenship by naturalization. The applicant must have resided in India during the last 12 months and for the last 11 months out of the last 14 years. The law extends the period from 11 years to six years for individuals belonging to six religions (Hindu, Sikh, Jain, Buddhist, Parsi, and Christian) and three countries (Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan).
The law also provides that registration of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders can be canceled if any rule is violated.
