Assam Flood: Flood situation in Assam's Dhemaji critical, boat sinks in Lali river, one year-old child missing

The situation is grim in Assam's Dhemaji district due to floods. Many areas of the Jonai section have been submerged. Meanwhile, the boat sank in the Lali river. Six people aboard were rescued, but a one-year-old child is still missing.

 

According to the Assam Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), 15,084 people are affected by the floods in the Dhemaji district. Flood waters have entered many districts. A boat capsized due to a flood in the Lali river. Six people aboard have been rescued, but the search is on for the missing child. A team of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and the fire services team of Dhemaji district is engaged in the search and rescue operation. There were a total of seven people in the boat. The boat was on its way from Kangkan Chapori to the Lomba Chapori area.

 

Earlier, a boat capsized in the Brahmaputra river in the state's Dhubri district. There were at least 50 people on board. Several people on board were missing when the boat capsized.
