Nuclear War: PM Modi and Xi Jinping's statement is 'very valuable', why did CIA Chief Bill Burns say this?

India and China have expressed their strong opposition to the use of nuclear weapons. In this episode, Bill Burns, the head of America's intelligence agency CIA, said a big thing. According to Bill Burns, 'India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi and China's President Xi Jinping have made clear their strong opposition to nuclear weapons. His statement is 'very valuable'.

Mention of India and China

The CIA chief's statement has come two days after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken also mentioned India and China amid the Russia-Ukraine war. His remarks came in the context of persuading Russia to refrain from nuclear weapons. Earlier, Blinken had asked India and China to talk to Russia to express their opposition to nuclear weapons.

talks were 'disappointing'

In an interview with CBS News on Sunday, when asked about his meeting with Russian foreign intelligence chief Sergei Naryshkin in Turkey last year, Burns said the conversation was "disappointing." He said that my aim was not just to hold talks.

Regarding nuclear weapons, he said that Naryshkin took the issue seriously. “I think it is also very valuable that the Chinese leadership and Prime Minister Modi in India have also made clear their opposition to any use of nuclear weapons.

Putin has arrogance

Bill Burns, when asked why he found the conversation with the Russian foreign intelligence chief disappointing, said he understood Putin still had a "sense of arrogance". Burns said that Putin remains completely confident in his ability to undermine Ukraine.

Burns also said that China was considering, but had not yet decided, whether to provide lethal supplies to Russia. At the Munich Security Conference last week, Blinken warned China against military aid to Russia.
