The Mumbai Police Crime Branch has confirmed that the reason behind the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddiqui is his close association with superstar Salman Khan, who has been on the hit list of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang since the blackbuck poaching case. Salman Khan was an accused in this case.
According to sources, Siddiqui's murder is being seen as a message from the Bishnoi gang to Salman Khan's close associates who have emotional and financial ties with the actor. An officer also confirmed that the firing outside the house of Punjabi singer AP Dhillon in Canada in September this year was also a warning. The Bishnoi gang also took responsibility for this firing. Dhillon had collaborated with Salman Khan for free for a music video.

The police officer said that the investigation into the firing case outside Salman Khan's house and now the investigation into the murder of the politician is pointing towards the Bishnoi gang. It seems that this gang is targeting everyone close to Salman Khan.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Vivek Phansalkar has held several marathon meetings after the murder of Baba Siddiqui as he did not get any prior indication that he could be the target of the Bishnoi gang.

A top police official said, "We believe that this is an intelligence failure and it is being taken very seriously. We will ensure that no such incident happens in the future. We are assessing where our intelligence system failed and why we did not get any indication."
Sources said that the Crime Branch, Anti-Terrorism Unit, Special Branch, and Criminal Intelligence Unit of Mumbai Police have been asked to collect details of everyone closely associated with Salman Khan so that any future attack can be avoided. The Crime Branch has also been asked to identify the routes through which weapons are being brought to Mumbai.
I have been shot, I will die.
Regarding the day of the murder, an NCP worker said that after the firing, three party members ran inside the office for help. A worker, who had worked with Baba Siddiqui for 28 years, caught hold of him and took him in the car along with the police officer. Baba Siddiqui then told them, 'I have been shot... I will not survive... I will die.' When they were taking him to Bhabha Hospital, Siddiqui collapsed after crossing the Kherwadi signal. When they reached the reclamation, he held the worker's hand tightly and died.
