Corona: Active cases of corona increased 20 times in the country in 15 days, the figure crossed 5000, and four deaths also occurred in 24 hours

Active cases of corona in the country have crossed 5000. On May 22, this figure was 275. In such a situation, active cases of corona have increased 20 times in the last 15 days. According to the data of the Union Health Ministry, Kerala remains the most affected state in active corona cases in India. It is followed by Gujarat, West Bengal and Delhi.

 

Important instructions given to the states

 

In view of the increase in cases, the Center is conducting mock drills to check the preparations for Corona. All states have been instructed to ensure the availability of oxygen, isolation beds, ventilators and essential medicines in view of the increasing cases of Covid. There are 5,364 active cases in India. Four new deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours.

 

Total 55 deaths in the country since January

According to official sources, most of the cases are mild or asymptomatic. They can be treated at home, just need to isolate yourself so that it does not spread to others. A total of 55 deaths have occurred in the country since January this year due to corona. On May 22, there were a total of 257 active patients in the country.

 

Important meetings were also held

 

Earlier on June 2 and 3, a series of technical review meetings were held under the chairmanship of Director General of Health Services (DGHS) Dr. Sunita Sharma with representatives of Disaster Management Cell, Emergency Management Response (EMR) Cell, National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP), Central Government Hospitals in Delhi and representatives of all states and union territories to evaluate the current corona situation and preparedness.

 

Being closely monitored

 

On June 4, official sources had said that state and district surveillance units under IDSP are closely monitoring influenza-like illness (ILI) and severe acute respiratory illness (SARI). An official source had said that as per the guidelines, testing is recommended for all admitted SARI cases and 5 percent of ILI cases. Positive SARI samples are sent for whole genome sequencing through the ICMR VRDL network.
