Bahraich Violence: Administration in action, 50 rioters arrested so far; FIR lodged against more than 100

The noose has started tightening on the miscreants who created a ruckus during the idol immersion. The administration, which came into action mode, has arrested 24 more people within 24 hours. So far, 50 people have been arrested and sent to jail in the case of riots, while cases have been registered against more than 100 people.

 

The footage of CCTV cameras installed in Maharajganj and the city is being scrutinized. The miscreants are also being identified from the videos made by the police personnel during the riot. Seeing the action of the administration's rapid raids, the people who joined the crowd and created a ruckus are absconding.

 

After the murder of 22-year-old Ram Gopal Mishra, a resident of Rehua Mansoor village, after stone pelting from a house during the idol immersion in Maharajganj market of Hardi police station area, the angry mob had vandalized and set fire in Maharajganj market. In the city too, a bike was set on fire near Steelganj Pond. Many shops were burnt at the hospital intersection. An attempt was also made to set fire to Qazikatra.

 

Guerilla war continued for hours between the police and the rioters. To control the rioters, the STF chief had to run with a pistol in his hand. The Chief Minister had given instructions to take strict action against the rioters in the case. After this, the administration also appeared in action mode. Newly appointed Hardi police station in-charge Kamal Shankar Chaturvedi on Tuesday arrested Aashiq Aashiq Rasool, Namimuddin, Muhammad Raees, Raja Babu, Saqib, and 24 other people and sent them to court. SDM Akhilesh Kumar Singh has sent all the arrested accused to jail. On Monday, 26 people were arrested and sent to SDM court.

 

DM Monica Rani said that taking the case of riot seriously, action has been taken against 50 people. No rioter will be spared.

 

Ram Gopal's murder: Ten including six named accused are being searched

 

Bahraich: Hardi police are searching for 10 people in the case of dragging 22-year-old Ram Gopal Mishra, a resident of Rehua Mansoor village of Ramgaon, into his house during idol immersion in Maharajganj market, brutally beating him, pulling out his nails and shooting him to death.

 

SHO Kamal Shankar Chaturvedi said that Abdul Hameed, resident of Maharajganj, Rinku alias Sarfaraz, Faheem, Raja alias Sahir Khan, Nanakau and Maruf Ali, resident of Rehua Mansoor are named accused, while a case has been registered against four unknown people under sections 191(2), 191(3), 190 and 103(2) of BNS. They are being searched for.
