The ongoing ODI series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka has been rescheduled following a suicide attack in Islamabad, the same city where the Sri Lankan team is currently staying. This tragic incident has raised concerns about the players' safety, and some Sri Lankan players have expressed a desire to return home.

This news comes after 12 people were killed and several others were injured in a deadly bomb blast. Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board has rescheduled the second and third ODIs. The second ODI, originally scheduled for Thursday in Rawalpindi, will now be played on Friday, November 14th.

The third ODI, originally scheduled for November 15th, will now be played on November 16th. Pakistan won the first ODI by 6 runs and maintains a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.

PAK vs SL ODI Series Reschedule: Match Date Changed

In fact, Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has spoken to the players and assured them that all necessary steps are being taken to ensure their safety. The SLC stated that it is working closely with the PCB and local security agencies to ensure there are no problems.

In its statement, the SLC said that the team management has informed that some players wish to return home due to security reasons. However, the board has assured them that their safety has been fully guaranteed and all necessary measures are being taken.

The board also warned that if any player or support staff member returns despite the board's instructions, a formal review will be conducted against them, and appropriate action will be taken.

This incident has also brought back memories of the 2009 terrorist attack in Lahore, when the Sri Lankan team bus was attacked and several players were injured, forcing their tour to be cut short.
