Baltimore Bridge Collapse: American comics made a racist cartoon on the Baltimore accident, Indians called it shameful

US President Joe Biden also praised the quick action of the 22-member crew of the cargo ship 'Dali' which collided with the 'Francis Scott Key Bridge' in Baltimore, but Foxford Comics, in a shameful act, called it 'racist' regarding the Baltimore accident. The cartoon has targeted the Indian crew of the ship. This cartoon has been shared on X. Indians have expressed deep displeasure over this cartoon.

 

The 2.6-kilometer-long Francis Scott Bridge over the Patapsco River collapsed within seconds after the Singapore-flagged cargo ship 'Dali' collided with it in the early hours of Tuesday in Baltimore. Six people have died in this accident. Most of the ship's crew were Indians. The crew members reported losing control of the plane to the Maryland Department of Transportation before the accident.

 

Just 90 seconds after the information, police officers stopped the traffic on the bridge. This saved the lives of many people. But instead of appreciating the Indian crew members, the American webcomic shared a racist cartoon depicting the crash. The animated video shows men wearing only loincloths preparing for the impending crash while aiming at the ship's crew.

 

Foxford Comics shared the video posted on X, the last known recording from inside the cast. The cartoon also contains offensive audio. This cartoon has been broadcast. It not only depicts Indians in a racist manner but also downplays the competence of the ship's crew. Indian economist Sanjeev Sanyal, while sharing the cartoon, wrote that the plane was probably being flown by a local pilot at the time of the accident.

 

The crew had warned authorities about the accident, which is why the number of casualties was relatively low. The mayor also praised the Indian crew, calling them heroes. Another X user said it is shameful that people are making fun of the Indian team for this tragic incident. While the Governor has praised the crew.
