T20 WC: Team India's practice session in Florida cancelled; These two players may return to India after the match against Canada

The Indian team's practice session scheduled for June 14 in Florida has been canceled due to rain. Team India will take on Canada on Saturday at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill. Rohit Sharma and Co have so far won all their matches in the group stage at the 2024 T20 World Cup. Team India defeated Ireland by eight wickets in their opening match and then beat Pakistan by six runs in a low-scoring thriller. India made it to the Super-8s by defeating the USA by seven wickets at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

Media reports have also revealed that Shubman Gill and Avesh Khan will leave the team after India's last group match against Canada. Both will be released and both will return to India. Both of them have gone to the US as part of the reserve. At the same time, two more reserve players Khaleel Ahmed and Rinku Singh will remain with the team.

Heavy rain is expected in Lauderhill, located in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, for the rest of this week. This week, India, Pakistan, the USA, Ireland, and Canada have to play their respective matches in Florida. The match between Sri Lanka and Nepal in Lauderhill on June 12 had to be canceled without a single ball being bowled. Host USA will play against Ireland on Friday in Lauderhill. Pakistan will also face Ireland on Sunday at the same ground.

Lauderhill is an hour north of Miami. At present, the flood-like situation in Florida has wreaked havoc on the local people. At the same time, due to rain, it seems impossible to have a match there at the moment. Due to the lack of special drainage facilities in Lauderhill, the ground staff will have to work hard to dry the ground. If the match between the USA and Ireland is canceled today, then the campaign for Pakistan may end today itself.

Only two teams from each of the four groups advance to the second stage. Pakistan will have to win the match against Ireland at all costs and also hope that the results of other group matches go in their favor to reach the Super Eight. Pakistan will have to win by a big margin against Ireland and hope that Ireland beats the USA. If the USA-Ireland match is canceled or the USA beats Ireland, Pakistan's journey will end.

India has already qualified for the next stage of the tournament and will face Australia on June 24 at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in St Lucia. The seedings before the tournament will decide the Super Eight stage and it does not matter whether they finish first or second in their group. India and Australia will be in the same group in the Super Eight. Apart from this, Afghanistan has also entered this group. India will face Afghanistan on June 20 in Barbados.
