After winning the T20 World Cup, the Indian team has finally reached India. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had arranged a special flight for the world champion team to bring Rohit Sharma's army and media personnel back home. Air India flight AIC24WC (Air India Champions 24 World Cup) reached India this morning. It is worth noting that the team led by Rohit Sharma, its support staff, some BCCI officials, and the players' families were stranded in Barbados due to storm Beryl. The team won the title by defeating South Africa by seven runs in the final on Saturday. Since then the team has been in its hotel there.

After winning the final match, the Indian team was to return to India by a regular flight, but there were curfew conditions in Barbados due to the cyclone. All flights were cancelled and the players and staff were stranded in their hotels. After this, a special plane was sent to Barbados by the government.

Fans gathered outside Delhi airport to welcome the Indian team. A large number of people reached out to welcome Rohit Sharma's army. Their wait of 17 years is over today. India had earlier won the T20 World Cup title in 2007 under the leadership of then-captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

 

The Indian team will meet PM at 11 am.

 

According to BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla, the Indian team will reach Delhi at 6 am. After this, they will meet the Prime Minister at 11 am. After this, Rohit Sharma and company will leave for Mumbai by special plane. A victory parade will be organized in his honor here. Apart from this, he said that the Indian team will also be given the prize money of 125 crores announced by the BCCI at the Wankhede Stadium.

 

BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla said, "The BCCI had sent a special Air India plane to bring back the Indian team. Apart from this, the stranded media persons are also being brought back by the same plane. They will reach Delhi at 6 am tomorrow. The Prime Minister has organized a welcome ceremony for the team at his residence at 11 am. After this, they will leave for Mumbai by special plane, where a roadshow has been organized in their honor from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium. A welcome ceremony has been organized for them at Wankhede Stadium, where the Indian cricket team, coaches, and support staff will be felicitated and awarded with cash prizes of Rs 125 crore announced by the BCCI."

BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has confirmed by tweeting that the Indian team will be given a warm welcome in Mumbai on July 4 at 5 pm. A victory parade will be organized for them, which will start from Marine Drive and go up to the Wankhede Stadium. Interestingly, the way Rohit took the World Cup trophy from Shah after winning the final match will be repeated. Shah also gave this information.

 

Shah tweeted, "Join us in the Vijay Parade to honor Team India's World Cup victory! Come to celebrate with us at Marine Drive and Wankhede Stadium from 5:00 pm on July 4! Remember the date!"

 

Tight security arrangements for the victory parade of T20 World Cup-winning Indian team in Mumbai

The victorious team will participate in an open bus roadshow after a felicitation ceremony at the Wankhede Stadium in South Mumbai after arriving from New Delhi. The official said that the victory procession will be taken out from Nariman Point to Wankhede Stadium between 5 and 7 pm. He said that a large number of cricket fans are expected to gather to watch the procession, so the police are taking full precautions to avoid any untoward incident. Adequate police personnel are being deployed on Marine Drive between Nariman Point and Wankhede Stadium, the official said.
