Bangladesh: The central government expressed concern over targeting Hindus in Bangladesh, and said- the situation is being closely monitored

The central government has expressed deep concern over the targeting of minority Hindus, temples, and businesses in Bangladesh. The government said it is keeping a close watch on the current situation in Bangladesh. India is ready to face any situation. Security forces monitoring the border with Bangladesh have been put on high alert.

 

Giving detailed information on the current situation in Bangladesh in both houses of Parliament on Tuesday, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said that the situation in the neighboring country is extremely worrying. India is constantly in touch with the current ruling system of Bangladesh. He said that the students' movement which started in protest against reservation became focused on a one-point demand for the resignation of PM Sheikh Hasina despite the decision in their favor from the Supreme Court. On August 5, protesters gathered in Dhaka despite the curfew. Our understanding is that after meeting with the leaders of the security establishment, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina decided to resign.

 

Hasina wants to go to Britain or any other country in Europe

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said that after resigning, Sheikh Hasina requested permission to come to India for some time in a very short time. Perhaps she wants to go to London or some other country in Europe. He said that at the same time, we received a request from the Bangladesh authorities for permission to fly. After this, Sheikh Hasina reached Delhi on Monday evening by Bangladesh Air Force plane. He also said that the Bangladesh Army Chief has taken command there and has talked about the formation of an interim government.

 

Hindus' houses and temples targeted in 27 districts of Bangladesh

 

The period of violence in Bangladesh is still going on. The situation has become very bad amid fierce arson. Even after Sheikh Hasina resigned from the post of Prime Minister and left the country, the protesters are standing on the streets. At the same time, the situation has become so bad that the houses and business establishments of Hindus are being targeted in the country. The mob attacked the houses and business establishments of Hindus in at least 27 districts here and also looted their valuables. At the same time, at least four temples have also been vandalized across the country.
