Bangladesh Vs Ireland: Shakib becomes the highest wicket-taker in T20, Ireland kneels in front of Bangladesh

Bangladesh has won the three T20 match series against Ireland. He defeated the visiting team by 77 runs in the match played on Wednesday (March 29) in Chittagong. With this victory, Bangladesh took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. He has a second consecutive T20 series win over Ireland. Earlier in 2012, the Bangladeshi team got 3-0 success in three matches.

 

Due to rain, this match between the two teams took 17-17 overs. Ireland won the toss and decided to bowl. Bangladesh scored 202 runs for three wickets in 17 overs. In response, Ireland's team could only manage 125 runs for nine wickets in 17 overs. They lost the first match by 22 runs based on the Duckworth-Lewis method. The third and final match of the series will be played on March 31 in Chittagong.

 

Shakib created history

Shakib took five wickets for 22 runs during this match. He became the highest wicket-taker in T20 Internationals. He left behind New Zealand's Tim Southee (134 wickets) in this matter.

 

Bangladesh batsman

Bangladesh openers Liton Das and Ronnie Talukdar got the team off to an explosive start. Both shared a 124-run partnership in 9.2 overs. Ronnie Talukdar was dismissed after scoring 44 off 23 balls. He hit three fours and two sixes. After that, Liton Das returned to the pavilion. Liton scored 83 off 41 balls. He hit 10 fours and three sixes in his innings. Captain Shakib shared a 61-run partnership for the third wicket with Tauheed Hridoy after two wickets fell for 138 runs. Tauheed was dismissed after scoring 24 runs off 13 balls. Shakib remained unbeaten on 38 off 24 balls and Najmul Hussain Shanto scored two runs on one ball.

 

Irish batsmen failed

Talking about Ireland's innings, only Curtis Campher could stand against the Bangladeshi bowlers. He scored 50 runs in 30 balls. Harry Tector scored 22 runs. Graham Hume remained unbeaten on 20 off 17 balls. Apart from these three batsmen, no batsman could cross the double figure. Eight of Ireland's batsmen disappointed the team. These include captain Paul Stirling who was dismissed for zero. Captain Shakib took five wickets and Taskin Ahmed took three wickets for Bangladesh. Hasan Mahmood got a breakthrough.
