Officials of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) in collaboration with online ticket booking portal BookMyShow have been accused of black marketing of tickets for the match between India and South Africa to be held at the Eden Gardens Stadium on November 5.
A cricket lover has complained about this in the Maidan police station of Kolkata, based on which the police summoned the officials of Cab and Bookmyshow for questioning on Thursday. Police sources said that officials of Cab and Bookmyshow will be asked about the method of selling tickets.
An attempt will also be made to know where the tickets for the India-South Africa match went. Why are they not available to the common people in the market? It is noteworthy that there is tremendous enthusiasm in Kolkata regarding this match, but there is a lot of resentment among the people due to not being able to get tickets for the match anywhere.
Many clubs affiliated with CAB have also complained about not receiving tickets. At present, black marketing of tickets for the India-South Africa match is going on extensively in Kolkata. Police arrested one person each for black marketing of tickets on Tuesday and Wednesday. 20 and 16 tickets have been seized from them respectively.
