Bengal: CM Mamata said- 12 thousand policemen will be recruited soon; Patient welfare committees dissolved in government hospitals

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has said that the Trinamool Congress government will soon start the process of filling 12,000 vacant posts of the state police. The recruitment process has been stuck for some time, but the notification to start the process of filling the posts will probably be issued on Monday. According to Mamata, if this matter was not stuck, the government could have already completed the recruitment process for the vacancies. He said that the jawans recruited in the police force will also be posted on duty after training. By doing this, the training period will be reduced.

 

Rogi Kalyan Samitis dissolved in government hospitals.

 

Apart from the recruitment of policemen, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday took a big decision related to the Health Ministry. She dissolved all the Rogi Kalyan Samitis in state-run hospitals. She said that the new committees represented by doctors, nurses, and local councilors will be headed by the principals of the hospitals. The announcement of dissolving the committees was made by the Chief Minister after a meeting with the MSVP and Principals of State Hospitals to review the security measures in medical institutions. She also said that a mobile application would be prepared to address the problems and complaints of health workers across the state.

 

Semiconductor fabrication plant in Bengal with US collaboration, landmarked: Mamata

 

In another important development, CM Mamata said, her government will set up the country's first national security semiconductor manufacturing plant in partnership with the US. The land has been marked for this. After meeting US Consul General Kathy Giles-Diaz, CM Mamata said, "We have already marked the land. It has also been prepared. The US has also seen a land... A 'roadmap' can be considered in the second week of January next year." Describing the project as a major achievement for the state, she expressed hope that it would generate a large number of jobs in West Bengal.

 

Submarine cable landing station to be built in Digha by 2026; Big changes in the world of internet

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's Principal Chief Advisor Amit Mitra has said that the undersea cable landing station at Digha in East Medinipur district will be operational in the next 15-20 months. He said that this cable landing station implemented by Reliance Jio will be fully operational in the first quarter of 2026. This will further strengthen internet connectivity and data transfer capacity in the project area. Currently, all signals in eastern India pass through Mumbai or Chennai. This leads to delays and possible bottlenecks. In August 2020, West Bengal approved this project worth Rs 1,000 crore. Mitra described the project as transformational and said that it will facilitate many businesses. Digha of Bengal will be known as the new IT hub. The cable landing station is also expected to bring major changes in Silicon Valley and other IT projects in the state.
