Nandigram: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has alleged that alleged goons have come from other states to create trouble in Nandigram and threaten voters. He has requested the Election Commission to take action in this matter today. Before campaigning for the next round, Mamta alleged that the local people were being driven away in several villages of the assembly constituency of East Midnapore district.

Targeting BJP at an election rally in Gaughat, Mamta Banerjee said, 'He brought hundreds of leaders to fight against me. They cannot fight against a single woman. This is their fear. They hate Bengal, that is why till now they have not changed the name of my state from West Bengal to Bengal. They still have not done it.
Mamta further said, 'My car was attacked. Yesterday, the press people also saw this. Because of the election, I am silent after that, I will show to the big face. This BJP is the party of Gunda Mirzapur. Like Hathras of Uttar Pradesh wants to do in Bengal, show the girls here with their hands. I have been upset by speaking to the Election Commission but no work is being done. I want the election to be peaceful. Gunda BJP wants to interfere in Bengal.
"Chief Minister realizes defeat"
At the same time, BJP leader Jayaprakash Majumdar said that the Election Commission has to see these allegations but it seems that the Chief Minister has realized defeat, so she is already making such claims. At present, section-144 has been implemented in Nandigram, West Bengal before the voting.
Apart from this, 22 companies of central forces will be deployed for voting in Nandigram. The Election Commission has decided to deploy a 22-man Quick Response Team (QRT) in Nandigram on April 1, the voting day. There are a total of 355 polling stations in this constituency and 75 percent of them will have webcasting facilities.
