Biden government explained why India is special for him

America has said that it welcomes the emergence of India as a leading world power.

 

Speaking to the media, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ned Price said, "India is an important ally of America in the Indo-Pacific region." We welcome India to emerge as a leading world power and provide security in this area. ''

 

Ned also said that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has spoken to Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar. This is the second conversation between the two ministers in the last 14 days.

 

Talking on the phone, the two leaders reiterated the strength of the US-India partnership and discussed issues of mutual concern including the current situation in Myanmar.

 

Blinken expressed concern over the coup in Myanmar and the neglect of democratic processes.

 

On February 1, Myanmar's army arrested the top leaders of his government, including the country's highest leader Aung San Suu Kyi, and overthrew them.

 

The leaders of both countries also discussed regional development including the importance of Indo-US cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

 

Price said, "Both countries insisted on increasing regional cooperation with Quard and other means. Also committed to deal with challenges like Covid-19 and climate change.

 

India-US partnership

 

In response to a question, Price said that "India-US global strategic partnership is not only comprehensive but also multi-dimensional. We will pursue high-level cooperation on many fronts. We are sure that our partnership and relationship will deepen in the coming time. ''

 

He said, "The US and India are partners in many broad diplomacy and security-related areas such as defense, regional cooperation in the Indo-Pacific, terrorism, peace, environment, health, education, technology, agriculture, space."

 

"Both countries also work together in international organizations. We welcome India's joining the Security Council for the next two years. ''

 

Ned Price also said that India will remain America's largest trading partner. Trade between the two countries has increased to 146 billion dollars in the year 2019.

 

Apart from this, American companies are the biggest means of foreign direct investment in India.

 

Apart from trade and diplomatic relations, Price described a heartfelt relationship between India and the US. He said- "4 million Indian-Americans are living in this country (America), who now consider America as their home." They serve their society and country proudly. ''
