BRO: After the Tawang skirmish, BRO is speeding up the infrastructural development on the China border, and the strength of the army will increase

Amidst the ongoing border dispute with China, the Border Roads Organization (BRO) is rapidly engaged in infrastructural development works in the border areas. These constructions will give more strength to the Indian military force. To deal with any situation, a befitting reply can be given to the enemy by reaching the most inaccessible places easily. The government has planned to connect all the border villages of Arunachal Pradesh with good connectivity roads. Apart from this, BRO is also undertaking the construction of two important tunnels in the Tawang and West Kameng districts of Arunachal Pradesh which will become a game changer for the Indian security forces in the security of the international border.

 

Road construction at an altitude of 5,700 feet

Brigadier Raman Kumar, Chief Engineer of 'Project Vartak' told that BRO is doing all these works under Project Vartak. According to the official, the Nechiphu tunnel at an altitude of 5,700 feet is being constructed on the Balipara-Charduar-Tawang (BCT) road. It is a 500 m long D-shaped, single tube double lane tunnel. The construction work of the Sela Pass Tunnel in the West Kameng district is nearing completion and will be completed in the next five-six months.

 

Defense Ministry to discuss a proposal for the purchase of light tank 'Zoravar'

The Defense Ministry will bring an important proposal related to the deployment of light tanks on the China border in a meeting to be held later this week. Government sources said that in a high-level meeting of the Ministry of Defense, the proposal to buy 354 tanks under Make in India will be discussed. Indian Army has released the specifications for its future lightweight tank which has been named 'Zoravar'.

 

Tank named in honor of General Zorawar

The tank is named after the legendary General Zorawar, who led many victories in Tibet. It is a different matter that now there is control of the Chinese army. Army officials said medium battle tanks have their limitations. It is very successful in plains, semi-deserts, and deserts, but high-altitude areas (HAA), border areas, and island areas require lighter tanks. Due to this, this important proposal has been brought. He told that the light tank will also help in all emergencies including high-altitude areas, border areas, and island areas. They can also be easily taken up to a height of ten thousand feet.
