Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's first death anniversary is being observed today. ​​Several leaders, including Rahul Gandhi, paid tribute to him on this occasion. Congress leaders paid homage to him, saying that his humility, honesty, and legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge described the former Prime Minister as a transformative leader. Kharge said that he reshaped the country's economic path and expanded opportunities for millions through economic reforms, lifting millions out of poverty. He said, “Known for his humility, integrity, and wisdom, he led with dignity and compassion, ensuring that progress remained inclusive and welfare benefits reached the most needy. The rights-based paradigm is a testament to this approach. We built a stronger India under his vision.” The Congress president wrote on X, "We pay tribute to a statesman whose honest public service and legacy of lasting reforms will continue to inspire generations."

 

 

He empowered India economically - Rahul Gandhi.

Rahul Gandhi wrote on X, "Humble tribute to former Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh ji, on his death anniversary. With his visionary leadership, he empowered India economically. His historic efforts and courageous decisions for the underprivileged and poor of the country gave India a new identity on the world stage.

 

 

His humility, diligence, and honesty will always be an inspiration for all of us."

Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, "Manmohan Singh ji was a strong advocate of equality, a powerful, courageous, and dignified personality, who was completely dedicated to the progress of the nation. His simplicity, honesty, and dedication to the country will always inspire us all."

 

 

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Friday. Sarma said that the nation will remember the contributions of the Congress leader, who was renowned as an economist. He said in a post on X, "Remembering former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji on his first death anniversary today." The Chief Minister further added, "His contributions to the nation will always be remembered."

 

 

Singh, who passed away last year at the age of 92, was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Assam five times since 1991, including during his ten-year tenure as Prime Minister.
