He said, “Known for his humility, integrity, and wisdom, he led with dignity and compassion, ensuring that progress remained inclusive and welfare benefits reached the most needy. Sarma said that the nation will remember the contributions of the Congress leader, who was renowned as an economist. He said in a post on X, "Remembering former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh ji on his first death anniversary today." The Chief Minister further added, "His contributions to the nation will always be remembered."
Singh, who passed away last year at the age of 92, was elected to the Rajya Sabha from Assam five times since 1991, including during his ten-year tenure as Prime Minister.
