Can the prices of petrol and diesel be reduced, Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri indicated

People are very upset due to the rising prices of petrol and diesel in the country. Meanwhile, the central government has indicated cutting oil prices. While talking on oil prices, Union Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri said that talks are being held with Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, and Russia.

 

He said I am talking to my counterparts in Saudi Arabia, Gulf countries, and Russia. We are working at different levels. After this statement of the Union Minister, it is expected that oil prices can be cut.


It is noteworthy that the process of increasing the prices of petrol and diesel continues continuously. Petrol and diesel prices were increased for the fourth consecutive day on Saturday. The prices of both were increased by 35-35 paise per liter. After this increase, the price of one liter of petrol in Delhi has now gone up to Rs 107.24 per liter, while the price of diesel has reached Rs 95.97 per liter. It is being told that the prices of crude oil are increasing at the international level, whose effect is visible in the country as well. Petrol has crossed Rs 100 in all major cities of the country. At the same time, diesel is being sold in more than a dozen states for more than Rs 100 per liter. With this increase, petrol has become costlier by Rs 36 per liter since the beginning of May 2020. At the same time, the price of diesel has increased by Rs 26.58 per liter.
