New Delhi, March 27 (IANS) The CBI on Friday arrested two PWD officials for accepting bribe of Rs.53,000 for passing bills.
An assistant engineer and a junior engineer were arrested from the PWD's Geeta Colony subdivisional office in east Delhi following a complaint, said a Central Bureau of investigation official.
The CBI booked the both the engineers on charges of criminal conspiracy and under the Prevention of Corruption Act on the allegations of demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.53,000 for passing the bills of the complainant.
The agency also conducted searches in office and residential premises of the accused.
"The arrested accused will be produced tomorrow (Saturday) in a designated court in Delhi," said the official.
