The Champions Trophy is going to start from today. Before the start of the tournament, a big controversy had come to the fore. It was claimed in many media reports that the PCB did not hoist the Indian flag at the Karachi Stadium. Fans were outraged on social media over this and people believed that even though India did not go there to play, under the rules, the host country had to hoist the flags of all eight teams in its stadium. The video of Karachi Stadium went viral on social media. However, now the matter seems to be fine. Some new pictures have surfaced on social media in which it is told that the Indian tricolor has been hoisted in the stadium of Karachi.

 

Pakistani fans on social media also criticized Pakistan's decision to refuse to hoist the Indian flag in their stadiums. The PCB dismissed the controversy and said that only the flags of the countries playing in Pakistan have been hoisted in the stadiums for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. A PCB source told news agency IANS, 'As you know, India is not coming to Pakistan to play its matches during the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Flags of the countries that are going to play at these venues have been hoisted at the National Stadium in Karachi, Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, and Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.'

 

When asked why the flags of India, Bangladesh, and other participating countries have not been hoisted in the stadiums of Karachi and Lahore? To this, the source said, 'The Indian team is going to play its matches in Dubai. At the same time, the Bangladesh team has not yet reached Pakistan and will play its first match against India in Dubai. So their flags have not been hoisted and other countries who have arrived here and will play in Pakistan. Their flags are in the stadium.

 

The BCCI vice-president also reacted to the controversy and said that the Pakistan board has to first confirm whether the Indian flag was there initially or not. If it was not, it should have been placed. "First of all, it should have been confirmed whether the Indian flag was there or not. If it was not there, it should have been placed. Flags of all the participating countries should have been there," Rajeev Shukla told Livemint on the sidelines of the Restaurant Cricket League in Delhi on Tuesday.
