After months of torrential rains, the monsoon is now beginning to withdraw from North India. The monsoon has begun its retreat. However, some states are still unlikely to see any relief from the rains. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert today, particularly in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.

Cloudbursts, landslides, and flash floods have caused widespread devastation in the hilly states. The hilly states will also soon see some relief from the rains. Meanwhile, heavy rains are expected in the plains, including Delhi, today, bringing relief from the humid heat and potentially bringing a drop in temperatures.

According to the Meteorological Department, the monsoon has withdrawn from parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Meanwhile, the monsoon is continuing its withdrawal in other states. In addition to Delhi, heavy rains are expected in Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, eastern Rajasthan, and parts of Gujarat for the next three days.
