New Delhi, March 10 (IANS) Culture and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma on Tuesday suggested bringing changes in the work culture in order to revive ailing units of the Indian Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC).
"All efforts must be made to revive the ailing units/hotels of ITDC which will require a major change in work culture," Sharma said at a review meeting.
He asked the employees to identify problems, delegate a person responsible, draw up a time-frame to correct it and continuously monitor the progress.
"There can be no compromise on delivery, and results must become visible. We will try to revive hotels with some management problems but will have to lease out those with sticky problems, like Hotel Ashok in Jammu," he said, adding that disinvestment should be the last option.
