On the skirmish with the Indian Army in Tawang, Arunachal, former Army Chief General MM Naravane called China a hoodlum and a street hooligan. General Naravane said that the Chinese army considers itself the smartest and most professional military of the 21st century, but their actions do not seem more than hoodlums and street fighting.
Retired General Naravane was talking to the news agency ANI. He was asked whether the way China tried to unilaterally change the status of LAC in the Yangtse area of the Tawang sector on December 9, was similar to 2020 (violent clash in Galwan Valley).
In response to this, the former Army Chief said, 'It is not just about 2020. They (the Chinese Army) try this every year. Every year they make 2-3 such attempts to enter our territory and each time they face embarrassment.
India knows how to respond to neighbor's bullying
General Narwane said that the Chinese army has fallen to such an extent that it is doing hooding and street fighting. He raised the question – Has the People's Liberation Army of China stooped to the extent of hooliganism and street brawls? Or is it the professional army of the 21st century?
On the one hand, they try to demonstrate technical prowess and on the other, they are coming with spiked batons. This is ridiculous. India is the country that has shown the world that it is possible to respond to neighbors' bullying. I can confidently say to the entire country that we are always ready, we are ready to respond to whatever is thrown at us.
China has been trying to change the situation on the border for many years
The former Army Chief said that for many years China has been trying to change the situation on the Line of Actual Control (LAC). He is taking it to step by step, salami slicing. In the interview, on the question of Galvan Valley, he said that during the skirmish in Galvan, the best answer was given by our army.
Let us tell you that on June 15, 2020, 20 Indian soldiers were killed in a clash between the two armies in the Galvan Valley of Ladakh, while 38 Chinese soldiers were killed. However, the People's Liberation Army of China had only accepted the fact that 4 soldiers were killed.
General Naravane told the reason for the clash
General Naravane explained the reason for the clash in Tawang. He said that we have always been patrolling till PP15, but Chinese soldiers were trying to stop us from going to the patrolling point. This was unacceptable.
To prevent us from patrolling, they had set up a small post, to which we strongly objected. Despite this, he remained adamant that we will not go back. On this, our army protested more vocally. After which the Chinese soldiers and numbers come with the force. There was a clash on PP15 on this matter. Although our army was enough to send them back.
Reply to Bajwa's statement on Bangladesh
General Naravane rejected the statement of former Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa. Bajwa had said- The defeat of the 1971 Bangladesh war was a political defeat, not the defeat of the Pakistan Army. Only 34 thousand soldiers of Pakistan had surrendered in front of India and not 93 thousand.
General Naravane said that you cannot change facts and history. You cannot even try to write this by yourself which Bajwa wants. A photograph showing General Niazi of the Pakistani Army surrendering in 1971 shows what we can do without saying anything. We used to tell the heads of other countries who they were.
Even during Kargil, he did not accept the truth. It took a long time for them to accept that they did not get the bodies back and they did not accept that those killed were mercenaries.
Arunachal's Tawang Chinese soldiers tried to enter India
In the Yangtse area of the Tawang sector of Arunachal Pradesh, on the night of December 9, 600 Chinese soldiers tried to infiltrate the Indian post located at an altitude of 17,000 feet PLA. This post is in Yangtse. Indian soldiers chased away the Chinese. Some soldiers from both sides were injured in this clash.
