UPSC Result 2025: Rawatbhata's Anuj tops the list, secures first rank in third attempt, says mother inspires him

The final results of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination 2025 have been declared. A total of 958 candidates have qualified this year. This result brings a proud moment for Rajasthan. 26-year-old Anuj Agnihotri, from Rawatbhata, a small town near Kota, has brought laurels to the state by securing first place in the UPSC Civil Services Examination. Speaking to the team on this occasion, he credited his mother for his success.

Speaking to after securing first place in the civil services examination, Anuj Agnihotri said that his mother has always been his inspiration. She inspired him to serve people and bring positive change to society.

 

 

'Parents supported'

Anuj explains that initially, he didn't have a clear goal in life, but he always knew that he wanted to serve people and have a positive impact on a large section of society. Shortly after starting his MBBS studies in 2017, he realized that both authority and responsibility are essential for bringing about change. He then discussed the matter with his parents and began preparing for the Civil Services Examination.

 

 

Illegible Success

He said that when he passed the UTCS examination, he could not believe his success. Recalling that joyous moment, Anuj says he went to his room and cried tears of joy for about half an hour.

 

 

Big Success in the Third Attempt

Anuj Agnihotri, a resident of Rawatbhata in Chittorgarh district, secured the All India Rank 1 in his third attempt. He attributed his success to hard work as well as luck. Previously, he had been selected for the DANICS (Delhi, Andaman and Nicobar Islands Civil Service) in his first attempt and was undergoing training for it. He was currently serving his probationary period as an SDM in Delhi.

 

 

Success without coaching

Even during his training, Anuj continued preparing for the UPSC. This was his third attempt. The key was that he didn't seek help from any coaching institute. His success was due to his hard work and dedication. He studied for approximately 13 hours a day. Anuj prepared for the Civil Services exam primarily online. To prepare for the interview, he sought guidance from the Ensure IAS Institute in Delhi. During this time, his mentor, Sachin Jain, a former IRS officer, guided him in preparing for the interview.

 

 

Comes from a Simple Family

Anuj Agnihotri comes from a simple family. His father, Krishna Bihari, works as a technician at the Rajasthan Atomic Power Station, while his mother is a homemaker. Anuj has been academically brilliant since childhood and has achieved this position through his hard work.

 

 

Education and Career Start

Anuj received his primary education from the Atomic Energy Central School in Rawatbhata and passed the 10th grade from there. He then completed his 12th grade from MB Public Senior Secondary School in Kota. After successfully passing the medical entrance exam, he earned an MBBS degree from AIIMS, Jodhpur. After completing his medical internship in 2023, he focused entirely on preparing for the Civil Services Examination.

 

 

Studies and Hobbies

 

Anuj shared that in addition to his studies, he enjoys stand-up comedy. He also enjoys watching cricket in his spare time. Anuj's father, Krishna Bihari, expressed his pride in his son. He said, "Anuj has achieved this position through his hard work and dedication. We are confident that he will become one of the best IAS officers in the country."
