CM Fadnavis said- Everyone is in favor of removing Aurangzeb's tomb, Congress government brought it under ASI

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that everyone wants the tomb of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb to be removed, but it has to be done under the legal process. He said that the previous Congress government had kept this site under the protection of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), so it would be necessary to work within the ambit of the law to remove it.

Let us tell you that, BJP MP and Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's descendant Udayanraje Bhosale had demanded the removal of Aurangzeb's tomb. Reacting to this, CM Fadnavis said, 'We also want the same, but it is a protected site. During the Congress government, it was brought under the protection of ASI. Therefore, the legal process will have to be followed to remove it.'

Recently, the controversy escalated after Samajwadi Party's Maharashtra MLA Abu Asim Azmi's statement in support of Aurangzeb. There was a huge uproar in the assembly over his statement. After this, Abu Azmi was suspended from the assembly till March 26.

 

BJP and Shiv Sena have demanded the removal of the tomb several times

 

Aurangzeb's tomb is present in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district. There have been many controversies about it before. Many leaders of BJP and Shiv Sena have demanded the removal of Aurangzeb's tomb. However, the government says that any step can be taken only by following the proper procedure under the law.
