BJP workers and supporters who were going to attend the public meeting of Prime Minister Modi in Alipurduar were attacked at many places on Thursday. Vehicles of BJP workers leaving from different areas of Dinhata were stopped at many places.

Vehicles were vandalized and workers were beaten up. More than a dozen BJP supporters have been injured in this. They have been admitted to various hospitals. This incident took place in Dinhata of Cooch Behar district in Bengal.

Attack on BJP workers traveling by bus

When BJP supporters were going to Alipurduar by bus, a large number of people attacked the bus. BJP workers fled to save their lives and took shelter in the house of party leader Ajay Rai in the city. They were attacked there too. BJP has blamed Trinamool Congress for the incident.

TMC refutes BJP's allegations

Trinamool Congress's Dinhata president Bishu Dhar refuted these allegations and said that no leader or worker of his party was involved in the incident. Some workers who were going to the venue by train from Dinhata and Bamanhat stations were made to get off the train.

BJP's Sitai assembly constituency co-convenor Dibakar Rai said that their vehicles were stopped, vandalized, and workers were beaten up at at least five to seven places in Dinhata. He accused the police of negligence and said that all this happened in the presence of the police.
