The Congress party has announced to organize a national-level rally on December 9 at Delhi's Jantar Mantar amid 'Bharat Jodo Yatra'. The Parliament session is starting on December 7. At the very beginning of the session, the Congress party raised the demand of the farmers. 'Bharat Jodo Yatra' has entered North India. In the coming days, the Bharat Jodo Yatra will pass through many such big states, where the farmer's movement has had a wide impact. On Tuesday, National President of All India Kisan Congress Sukhpal Singh Khaira issued a letter containing 14 demands to Prime Minister Modi. There has been a demand from PM Modi that if he can waive the loan of Rs 10 lakh crore of the corporate sector, then why not the farmers? The farmer of the country is in debt and is forced to commit suicide. Sukhpal Singh Khaira claims that a large number of farmers from across the country will participate in this rally.
No action was taken on the demands of the farmers.
Bharat Jodo Yatra of the Congress Party is now in Rajasthan. After that this yatra will reach other states of North India. To strengthen the yatra, the party has chalked out a strategy to take the farmers along. This is the reason why now the Parliament has announced organizing a big rally at the beginning of the session itself. Sukhpal Singh Khaira says that the central government is indifferent toward the acute problems faced by the farmers and agricultural laborers of the country. Their demands are being ignored. A letter has been sent to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for early redressal of farmers' problems. The farmer's movement has also been mentioned in this. It has been almost a year since the movement ended, but the central government did not take any action on the demands of the farmers. In such a situation, there is no other option left for the farmers except to protest on the streets again.
A new committee should be formed for MSP
As Khaira, it is unfortunate that the central government has not taken any such positive steps towards the farmers, which will instill confidence in the farmers. They saw the hope of fulfillment of their demands. Because of these circumstances, the All India Kisan Congress has announced a huge rally and demonstration at Delhi's Jantar Mantar. The farmers' demands include legally guaranteeing the minimum support price. This guarantee should be based on the Swaminathan report on the formula of C2+50 percent for all crops. The farmer has already rejected the committee constituted by the central government in this direction. The old committee should be dissolved, a new committee should be constituted to legally guarantee the MSP. The representation of farmer organizations should be ensured in this. Due to the rising cost of cultivation and not getting the right price for the produce, the farmer is in debt. He is forced to commit suicide.
Electricity Amendment Bill 2022 should be withdrawn
In the letter written to the PM, a demand has been made to waive off the loans of the farmers on the lines of the corporate sector. Loans for agricultural laborers should be completely waived. In a letter written to the Kisan Morcha in December 2021, the Central Government made a written promise to withdraw the Electricity Amendment Bill 2022, but the same bill has been introduced in the Parliament. It should be taken back. Sukhpal Khaira has written in his letter that the main conspirator and Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni should be sacked for the death of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri. The innocent farmers arrested should be released. The false cases filed against the farmers should be dismissed. Effective insurance schemes should be started on all types of crops to provide relief to the farmers' crops from natural calamities like drought, floods, storms, and excessive rains.
The lawsuits filed against the farmers during the agitations should be canceled.
A farmer pension scheme of Rs 5000 per month should be started for all small, small, and medium farmers and agricultural laborers. The cases filed against the farmers during the farmer's agitations in all the states should be canceled. In addition to proper compensation, provisions should be made to provide jobs to the families of the farmers who were martyred in the farmers' agitation. A 'Kisan Shaheed Smarak' should be set up at the Sindhu Morcha site to honor the martyred farmers. The laborers working in the fields of the farmers should also be brought under the MNREGA scheme. With this, not only will more laborers get guaranteed employment, but farmers will also get the benefit of doing farming at a lower cost. The farmers have strongly opposed the silo storage policy being implemented in the private sector. Instead of this, a cooperative society of farmers should be formed and a storage system should be started. This will employ the farmers.
