कांग्रेस ने अपने 5 विधायकों के पार्टी से इस्तीफा देने के बावजूद गुजरात में दोनों सीटों पर चुनाव लड़ने का फैसला किया है।
राज्य के कांग्रेस नेताओं और पर्यवेक्षकों के बीच एक बैठक में बी.के. हरि प्रसाद और रजनी पाटिल, राज्य के नेताओं ने कहा कि उन्हें तकनीकी रूप से केवल एक वोट की आवश्यकता है और जिग्नेश मेवानी के समर्थन से पार्टी के माध्यम से पाल कर सकते हैं।
पहली सीट शक्ति सिंह गोहिल और दूसरी सीट भरत सिंह सोलंकी के लिए जाएगी। अब पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री सोलंकी के बेटे को अपनी जीत सुनिश्चित करनी है और पार्टी नेताओं का कहना है कि उनके पिता की सद्भावना से उन्हें उम्मीद से ज्यादा वोट मिल सकते हैं।
पार्टी के पर्यवेक्षक हरि प्रसाद ने कहा कि, "हम दोनों सीटें जीतने के लिए आशान्वित हैं।"
इस बीच, गुजरात के उप मुख्यमंत्री नितिन पटेल ने दावा किया है कि कांग्रेस के अधिक विधायक पार्टी से इस्तीफा देने के लिए तैयार हैं।
राजस्थान में कांग्रेस ने दो पर्यवेक्षक नियुक्त किए हैं। रणदीप सिंह सुरजेवाला और टी.एस. सिंहदेव राज्य में चुनाव की निगरानी करेंगे, जहां भाजपा ने चौथे उम्मीदवार ओंकार सिंह लखावत को उतारा है।
मध्य प्रदेश में, मुकुल वासनिक और हरीश रावत पहले ही विधायकों को संभालने के लिए तैयार हो चुके हैं। ये तीन राज्य दोनों पक्षों के बीच विवाद का मूल हैं।
पश्चिम बंगाल में, तृणमूल समर्थित निर्दलीय उम्मीदवार के नामांकन पत्र को खारिज कर दिया गया है, इसलिए राज्य में कोई मुकाबला नहीं होगा और कांग्रेस समर्थित सीपीएम उम्मीदवार को निर्विरोध चुने जाने की संभावना है।
भाजपा उच्च सदन में अपनी संख्या बरकरार रखना चाहती है, लेकिन हरियाणा में भाजपा ने चुनाव नहीं लड़ा, जहां सरकार जेजेपी और निर्दलीय विधायकों के समर्थन में बच रही है।
महाराष्ट्र में भी कोई मुकाबला नहीं है और सभी उम्मीदवार निर्विरोध चुने जाएंगे।
कांग्रेस झारखंड में भाजपा को पराजित कर सकती है, जहां उसने तीसरे उम्मीदवार को फ्लोटिंग वोटों के लिए मैदान में उतारा है। भाजपा को 27 वोटों की जरूरत है लेकिन उसके पास केवल 26 वोट हैं और खेल ऑल झारखंड स्टूडेंट्स यूनियन (AJSU) पर निर्भर करेगा। झारखंड के कांग्रेस प्रभारी आर.पी.एन. सिंह को भरोसा है कि कांग्रेस के उम्मीदवार के माध्यम से जाएगा।
कांग्रेस के पास 18 विधायक हैं और झामुमो के अधिशेष वोटों के साथ अगर आजसू सत्तारूढ़ गठबंधन को वोट नहीं देने का फैसला करती है, तो भाजपा उम्मीदवार दीपक प्रकाश को धूल चटाने की संभावना है। झामुमो नेता शिबू सोरेन का राज्यसभा जाना तय है।
बिहार में, छत्तीसगढ़ में भी कोई मुकाबला नहीं है जहां कांग्रेस दो सीटों पर जीत हासिल करने के लिए तैयार है।
