Corona's entry has been made in the Ranji Trophy starting on January 13. 7 players of the Bengal Ranji team have been found corona infected. Now BCCI can hold an emergency meeting before the start of the domestic tournament and considering the latest situation, it can also be considered to go ahead with the Ranji Trophy. Corona cases are increasing rapidly in the country. In the week ending on Sunday, January 2, 1.23 lakh cases of the corona were registered in the country. This was the highest number of cases in 12 weeks. Due to this, 41,169 cases were reported in the last week (December 20-26). That is, the rate of corona infection in the country almost tripled in a week. Cases increased by 82 thousand.

Belur Math closed till further orders due to Corona in Bengal

Because of the rapidly increasing corona cases in Bengal, the state government closed Belur Math till further orders. Earlier, the Mamta government decided to close most of the institutions in Bengal from January 3. Bengal Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi said that from Monday all government and private offices in the state will run with 50% capacity.
