Independence Day 2022: Preparations for a tough attack on familyism and corruption

Posted on 16th Aug 2022 10:41 am by rohit kumar

From the ramparts of the Red Fort, whoever the Prime Minister, he tries to give an inclusive message to the country. Along with this, he also gives a glimpse of the upcoming policies and programs of his government. In this sense, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a true and inclusive speech on all these criteria from the ramparts of the Red Fort during the main function of the 76th Independence Day. But at the same time, the Prime Minister said another big thing. He strongly attacked familyism. Not only this, calling it a big evil, he has sought the cooperation of the country in dealing with it. Its message is that in the coming days this evil that has penetrated deep into politics will be dealt with at the government level as well and the BJP will fight it at the political level as well.

In his inclusive speech, the Prime Minister added nepotism to politics and said, "When I talk of nepotism, familism, people feel that I am talking only about the political field. Unfortunately, this evil of politics has nurtured familyism in all the institutions of India. This harms the talent of my country. I want the support of youth in the war against nepotism. It will not be easy to remove it from other sectors of society.

deep-rooted in the government machinery

Indeed, familism is deeply rooted in the government system. The dominant section of the government machinery makes such efforts on its part to get higher jobs for their children so that their relatives can get good marks in their respective examinations. Fixed jobs have become less in the government system. But it is also true that even now, with the number of temporary jobs that are created in the third class, the common citizen gets less opportunity in them, the people already engaged in that particular office for their family and relatives' children and daughters. Somehow they juggle the place. Keeping in mind the collegium system in the higher judiciary, the influential people of the judiciary start their family members to study and practice law, and by taking advantage of this system, they become somewhat successful in establishing their children in the higher judiciary.

familism in politics

Familism has become an open game in politics. In the oldest party of the country, this belief has been established that if anyone can maintain unity among the people of the entire party, then he can be a person of the Gandhi-Nehru family. This is the reason that from Nehru to Indira Gandhi, from Rajiv Gandhi, Sanjay Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi to Rahul Gandhi, Congress's hope is visible. Through Priyanka Gandhi, this thing is going to go to her children. The interesting thing is that like the subjects of the monarchy, its supporters also bow down to this family system with devotion.

As for regional and small political parties, they are now running like a private limited company. Be it Samajwadi Party or Rashtriya Janata Dal or Telangana Rashtra Samithi or YSR Congress, National Conference or Indian National Lok Dal or Trinamool Congress, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha or Telugu Desam or Janata Dal-Secular, wherever you look in the country, all local And regional parties are occupied by the families or sons and daughters of their founders. The interesting thing is that even his supporters see the glory of his party only in the people of the families. No matter how incompetent, illiterate or illiterate they may be. In the same parties, there are stalwarts and tenacious people, but they can never lead.

There is no doubt that due to many reasons corruption has also been encouraged in our country. After all, what is the reason that the founders of most of the parties were living as before, but after coming to power, their family's wealth increased millions of times? Whenever the question arises on this, the supporters of these parties consider it as an act of retaliation, even if they are doomed to live in poverty. From the ramparts of the Red Fort, the Prime Minister intelligently raised the issue of corruption, while targeting familyism and thus tried to show that familyism and corruption are two sides of the same coin. He said that if we do not take care in time, then due to our challenges, deformities, and diseases, all these can take a formidable form in the coming years. In these, two distortions are mainly involved, corruption and nepotism-nepotism.

The Prime Minister is aware that the consciousness against political corruption does not wake up due to the sympathy of the supporters of political parties for that family, perhaps that is why he said that it is a matter of concern for him that the hatred against corruption is visible among the countrymen. But there is no consciousness against the corrupt. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tried to awaken this consciousness with his speech at Red Fort on 15th August. Speaking from the Red Fort means that now the Prime Minister is in a state of mind for a decisive battle against this evil. Its results will be visible in the coming days.
