188 new cases of coronavirus infection have been reported in India while the number of active cases has come down to 2,554. The data was updated at 8 am saying that the total number of Covid cases has been recorded at 4,46,79,319 and the death toll at 5,30,710.
The daily positivity has been recorded at 0.10 percent while the weekly positivity has been pegged at 0.12 percent, the ministry said. According to the Health Ministry website, active cases comprise 0.01 percent of the total infections.
It said that the active Covid cases decreased by 16 cases in 24 hours, and added that the number of people who have been cured of the disease has increased to 4,41,46,055, while the death rate has increased. 1.19 percent has been recorded.
According to the website of the ministry, 220.12 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have been given so far in the country.
It crossed 60 lahks on 28 September, 70 lahks on 11 October, 80 lahks on 29 October, 90 lahks on 20 November, and one crore on 19 December 2020.
India crossed 20 million cases on 4 May, 30 million on 23 June 2021, and 40 million on 25 January this year.
