"Sorry Papa, I'm really sorry." These are the words from the suicide note of three innocent daughters from Ghaziabad who jumped to their deaths from the ninth-floor balcony of their apartment due to an addiction to online games. This heartbreaking incident, involving the deaths of three minor sisters, Nishika (16), Prachi (14), and Pakhi (12), has shaken the nation.
According to the police, the three sisters, addicted to mobile phones and influenced by a Korean dating game, were distraught after their phones were taken away. This horrific incident occurred around 2 AM on Tuesday night in the Bharat City Society in Tilamod, Sahibabad. Police recovered a pocket diary from the girls' room containing an eight-page suicide note.
They used to play Korean games for hours every day.
In his statement to the police, their father, Chetan Kumar, said that the three sisters were severely addicted to mobile phones and used to play Korean games for hours every day. They had even adopted Korean names for themselves: Maria, Aliza, and Cindy.
The girls were trapped in a Korean dating game.
Chetan said that he had taken away their phones three days earlier. The three girls were extremely upset about this and secretly used their parents' phones. According to the police, the girls were caught up in a task-based Korean dating game. They had also not been attending school for the past two years.
The family has been living in a rented flat for three years.
Chetan Kumar works in online share trading. He has been living in a rented flat in Bharat Society for the past three years with his two wives, Sujata and Hina, and five children. Of the girls who committed suicide, Nishika was the daughter of Chetan's first wife, Sujata, while Prachi and Pakhi were the daughters of his second wife, Hina.
He married his first wife's sister.
Chetan and his first wife, Sujata, did not have any children for many years, so he married Sujata's sister, Hina. A few months later, Nishika was born to Sujata. Son is mentally challenged
Prachi, Pakhi, and another daughter were born to his second wife, Heena. Later, a son, Lavish (7), was born to his first wife, who is mentally challenged and cannot speak.
Suicide note left with crying emojis
The teenage girls left an 8-page suicide note, which included emojis of a crying face. The note read, "Sorry Papa, I am really sorry." They also wrote about their love for and fascination with Korean culture. Apologizing to their father, they wrote, "You are Indian and we are Korean. How can we marry an Indian?"
According to the police, questioning the father revealed that two days earlier he had scolded his daughters and warned them that he would get them married soon. The walls of the room from which the three sisters jumped had slogans written on them such as "I am very very alone," and "Make me a heart of broken." On the floor of the room, childhood photos of the three sisters were arranged in a unique artwork. Their mother's mobile phone was also placed in the middle.
