Corona Updates: 6,396 new cases were reported in the country, only 5% of the vaccinated people in Maharashtra had to be admitted due to Omicron

Corona cases are continuously decreasing in the country. During the last 24 hours, there were 6,396 cases of corona in the country. At the same time, 201 people died. 13,450 people recovered after defeating Corona. The active cases of corona in the country have come down to 69,897.

 

Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Health said that in January in India, more than three lakh cases of the corona were registered daily. Now the same cases have come down to 11,000 cases a week on an average of 96.4 percent. Compared to the world, only 0.7 percent of daily cases are being reported in India. There were 615 deaths in India on February 2-8. At the same time, there have been 144 deaths in the last week.

 

More number of people who were not vaccinated were hospitalized

 

On the other hand, according to BMC data, only five percent of the vaccinated people in Mumbai who were affected by the Omicron variant of Corona had to be admitted to hospitals for treatment. While those who did not take a single dose of the vaccine, 17% of those exposed to Omicron had to be hospitalized.

 

Center said - every dose of corona vaccine is valuable, do not let the state go to waste

 

The central government says that every dose of the corona vaccine is precious, do not let it go to waste in any way. The Union Health Ministry has written a letter to the states and union territories in this regard. For this, daily review of vaccination has been said to be necessary. The Health Ministry also said that a lot of doses are about to expire at private immunization centers. If the state government wants, it can change the vaccine present at government centers from these centers. So that they can be used on time at government vaccination centers.

 

Vikas Sheel, additional secretary in the ministry, recently wrote to the states and union territories regarding expiring doses at private COVID-19 vaccination centers.
