Coronavirus Updates: COVID-19 havoc in China; Rapidly increasing cases, lockdown may be imposed in many cities

The cases of Covid-19 are increasing continuously in China. The government is closing down places and enforcing a temporary lockdown. On Sunday, 2,898 cases of the corona were reported, which remained above 2,000 for the second consecutive day. This has also put pressure on the country's controversial zero-covid policy, which has hit the economy.

 

10 percent of Guangzhou's population affected

Haizu's 1.8 million residents, or about 10 percent of Guangzhou's population, have been most affected. Corona cases have increased rapidly in Guangzhou in the last few days. During the last seven days, the corona cases here increased from 402 to 1,110 from October 24-30.

 

Shanghai Disney Resort closed today

On Monday, Shanghai Disney Resort said it has closed the entire resort from October 31 due to COVID containment measures in the city. Over the past week, officials in Datong, Xining, Nanjing, Xian, Zhengzhou, and Wuhan have been preparing to impose temporary lockdown measures in some neighborhoods to cope with the rising cases.

The cities of Dandong, Suihua, and Ruili, which are close to the borders of North Korea, Russia, and Myanmar respectively, are facing the outbreak of the pandemic.
