Countries around the world are worried about the new wave of Corona in Singapore. Now it has come to light that the variant of Corona which has caused havoc in Singapore has also found cases in India. This has been revealed by the data of the Indian SARS CoV-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG), which is monitoring Corona cases in India. According to the data, 34 cases of Corona variant KP1 and 290 cases of KP2 have been reported in India.
Patients found in these states
According to the data, KP1 cases have been reported in seven states of the country, out of which the highest number of 23 cases has been found in West Bengal. KP1 infected patients have been found in Goa (1), Gujarat (2), Haryana (1), Maharashtra (4), Rajasthan (2), Uttarakhand (1). The number of patients infected with KP2 is 290 in the country, out of which the maximum number of patients have been found in Maharashtra (148). Also in Delhi (1), Goa (12), Gujarat (23), Haryana (3), Karnataka (4), Madhya Pradesh (1), Odisha (17), Rajasthan (21), Uttar Pradesh (8), 16 patients have been detected in Uttarakhand and 36 in West Bengal.
Serious symptoms are not visible in patients
According to sources associated with the Health Ministry, KP1 and KP2 are also sub-variants of the JN1 variant of Corona. However, patients infected with this variant have not yet shown serious symptoms of the disease and the number of patients admitted to hospital is also less. In such a situation, there is nothing to worry about. Health Ministry sources said that the process of mutation will continue to occur in these variants and this is also the nature of the coronavirus.
It is noteworthy that KP1 and KP2 variants have become the cause of the new wave of Corona in Singapore. More than 25,900 cases have been reported in Singapore from May 5 to May 11. Two-thirds of these cases are associated with KP1 and KP2 variants. Scientists have named the group to which KP1 and KP2 variants belong as FLiRT.
