Corona Vaccination in India: The Covid-19 vaccination campaign in India is in its final stages. Meanwhile, the Health Ministry has decided that it will not buy any more vaccines. It has also returned the amount of 4237 crores allocated in the budget of 2022-23. It is being told that more than 1.8 crore vaccine doses are still available with the Center and the states, which is enough to continue the vaccination campaign for about six months.
Vaccination begins on 16 January 2021
Covid-19 vaccination started in India on 16 January 2021. In the first phase, health workers were vaccinated. In the second phase, frontline workers started getting the vaccine on February 2, 2021. In the third phase, from March 1, 2021, the vaccination of people above 60 years and in the age group of 45-59 years with serious diseases started.
More than 219 crore vaccinations in India so far
Meanwhile, the second wave of corona started dominating, because of which the central government directed people above 45 years of age to get the vaccine from April 1, 2021. If we talk about the total vaccination, so far 2 billion 19 crores 33 lakh 43 thousand 651 doses of vaccine have been given.

In India, the first phase of the vaccination campaign started on 16 January 2021, the second phase started on 1 March 2021 and the third phase started on 1 May 2021.

India touched the one crore vaccination mark on 19 February 2021.
On 6 August 2021, in just 202 days, 50 crore vaccine doses were administered in India.
On 27 August 2021, one crore vaccine doses were administered in a day.
On September 17, 2021, on the occasion of PM Modi's birthday, India had the highest dose of 2.5 crore vaccines in a day.
On 21 October 2021, India crossed the 100 crore vaccination mark.
It took just 76 days for India to touch the 50 to 100 crore mark.
The Har Ghar Dastak campaign was launched on 3 November 2021.
On January 5, 2022, the first dose of vaccine was given to more than one crore age group of 15 to 18 years.
On January 7, 2022, the vaccine figure crossed 150 crores.
On January 10, 2022, a campaign to introduce precautionary dosages for health workers, frontline workers, and people 60 years and above was launched.
On February 9, 2022, more than one crore youths in the age group of 15 to 18 years were vaccinated.
The vaccination campaign for children in the age group of 12 to 14 started on 16 March 2022.
On April 10, 2022, permission was given to apply precautionary doses in private centers.
On 17 July 2022, India crossed the 200 crore vaccination mark, achieving a historic achievement.
Uttar Pradesh made a record for vaccination
It is noteworthy that from March 1, 2021, the process of registering for vaccination started through the Kovin portal, Arogya Setu, and UMANG app. Ladakh was the first union territory where all its residents were vaccinated. Talking about the states, Uttar Pradesh has made a record in vaccination, where a maximum number of people have been vaccinated.
